When trying to find a two-flat or other small property it’s best to enroll a good real estate agent. Find an agent that is local to your community that has a good knowledge of the market. Start off by giving your agent a clear expectation of what you are looking for. What are you looking for? You want to start with something that is low risk. Meaning you would be better off at this stage finding a property that is turnkey. For the first time, this would be the best strategy. This way you go into a property not having to worry about frequent repairs and tenant calls. Later we will get into doing rehabs, which will provide even more benefit but a higher skill level.
